A Grateful Life #20

Although there are things that I would like to change about my life, lately I have been trying my best to live a life of gratitude. I think we all probably have things that we don’t like about our lives, but I have come to believe that in this life we sweat the small stuff entirely too much.gabrielle-cole-701889-unsplash

It seems to me that we dwell too much on negative things that cause stress in our lives. When we allow ourselves to become stressed because of all the negative things that life presents we seem to forget about all the great things that God has blessed us with. We forget to be grateful for the amazingly precious gift called life. We let things like financial issues, dislike for others, health matters, family issues and all the many other trials and tribulations of this life block our ability to see how beautiful just being alive really is.

Everyday I am trying to teach myself to live a life of gratitude. I honestly have to remind myself that in my life the good far outweighs what I feel is the bad. I am so grateful for all that God has felt that I am worthy of, he has blessed me abundantly all throughout my life, some blessings I feel undeserving of, but regardless of how I feel about life he continues to bless me anyway. Whenever I catch myself dwelling too much on the negative side of life I whisper a prayer asking God to remind me that life is never actually as bad as I may think and I ask God in that moment to remind me of all the good things that he has blessed me with, all the things that make me smile, feel loved, bring me joy, happiness & laughter and make me glad that I am living and to please help me keep my mind focused on those things. Those moments with God always remind me of how much I have to be grateful for.

For anyone who has taken the time to read this, if you are struggling with any of the trials and tribulations that living life presents please stop, pray and remind yourself that troubles do not last always, and that the storm is not always as bad as it seems while it is occurring. Remind yourself that God gave you life for a purpose, be grateful for life although problems exist in it, and remember that brighter days are always ahead.💜
